30th Schnelle Brigade

The brigade had been raised in February 1943 as reserve Rad regiment 30 (Reserve bicycle regiment) A few weeks later it was reorganized as Schnelle Brigade 30.

On April 1944 it was organized as follows:

Schnelle Abteilung 513

1 Company 14 machine guns, 3 mortars
2 Company 17 machine guns, 3 mortars
3 Company 22 machine guns, 3 mortars

Schnelle Abteilung 517

1 Company 18 machine guns, 5 mortars
2 Company 17 machine guns, 4 mortars
3 Company 9 machine guns, 3 mortars, two towed antitank guns , 5 self propelled 4.7cm antitank guns

Schnelle Abteilung 518

1 Company 11 machine guns, 3 mortars
2 Company 11 machine guns, 3 mortars
3 Company 8 machine guns, 3 mortars

The brigade had a total strength of 1,878 men

The brigade was deployed in the Countances, Granville area.
